Kim Friday Classic

Each year the PSA hosts a USSSA sanctioned softball tournament at the Little League fields in Pleasantville, Iowa. All proceeds from this event go towards the PSA fundraising campaign.

This is more than a tournament, this is to honor a legacy and promote the future of our community and softball. Kim Friday was a great softball player and an amazing community member. But her #1 calling was Mom. So, on May 13, this Mother’s Day weekend thank you for helping us honor this amazing mom gone way too soon.

Kim Franey Friday passed away suddenly and tragically at the age of 47. Kim was actively involved in nearly every organization within Pleasantville while serving as the Vice President at Peoples Bank. Success and Kim Friday go hand in hand. Kim was an All-Conference and All-State pitcher while helping her teammates earn a spot in the Iowa Girls High School State Softball Tournament. After her high school career was over, she lived out her dream of playing for the Central Dutch. Her passion continued as she became a coach and continued to give back to the game of softball any way she could. Kim was one of those people that just made the world a better place.

We are fortunate to get the opportunity to host this event in honor of her. This Mother’s Day weekend makes it extra special. With Kim in our hearts, we want to share that love. Each player has been given a gift to pass along to their mother or loved one. This is a token of Kim’s love for the game. Take this moment to enjoy the chance to play a game we all love. Squeeze each other tight and love the special bond this game creates. From Mom to teammates we are glad we can enjoy this Mother’s Day weekend together.

Thank you for helping us honor Kim’s legacy.
