The All-Skills Camp will focus on ALL aspects of the game with an emphasis on the fundamentals of volleyball. Skill development will be emphasized in the following areas: serving, serve receive, forearm and overhead passing, setting, attacking, blocking, transition & competition. Technique refinement and exposure to tactical aspects of the game will also be covered.
Campers will be broken down by ability and age to allow better skill growth.
Emilio formerly coached and directed all of the volleyball activities at MVP Sports before becoming the head of volleyball client development at PowerPlex in Waukee. His Central Iowa Select VB program was well-known throughout the region.
Playing/Officiating Experience: E started playing volleyball in 1988. He was a High School and NCAA referee and had a Junior National rating as a USA Volleyball official.
High School Coaching Experience: JV coach at Waukee High School in 2008 and Freshman coach at Dowling Catholic High School in 2009.
Collegiate Coaching Experience: Assistant coach at Central College in 2006, assistant coach at Grand View College in 2007 and assistant coach at Simpson College in 2010-11.
USAV Club Coaching & Directing Experience: Spans 20+ years including coaching stints at Westside Juniors, IPVA (one of the founders), Iowa Rockets, directed and coached the volleyball programs at Sports University and Central Iowa Select.
Iowa Region High Performance Program: He was one of 33 coaches invited to the Olympic Training Center in 2001 as USAV introduced the HP Pipeline to better identify younger athletes for future National teams. E brought the HP program to the region that summer and has been involved with the program since. Emilio’s GYNT National teams won Gold medals in the 2012 USAV HP Championships held in Des Moines and in 2013 HPC in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
Awards: E received the Iowa Region Male Coach of the Year in 2002 and received the Iowa Region Outstanding Club Director award in 2007.
Club Accomplishment: CIS 16M won the USA Volleyball Nationals’ American Division held in Columbus, Ohio in the summer of 2012 as well as numerous high finishes by various CIS teams.
